ANATOMALIA: anatomy + anomaly + femalia

Through new archetype, ritual, dance, song, installation, procession and sensual, surreal, dark and humourous choreography, ANATOMALIA is a collective healing of the damage done to femalia* and a celebration of queer joy, seeking to change inner landscape and outer world.

(*inclusive off all feminine-ness)

ANATOMALIA takes over Tromsø Kunstforening using multiple spaces throughout the ground floor. There are installations and immersive environments where choreographies unfold, secret performances to be discovered.

Created by International contemporary dance+ artist, Meagan O’Shea (she | they) in residencies in Morocco, Ireland, Germany and Spain, Anatomalia is O’Shea’s biggest work to date. Known for her interdisciplinary solo performances, often set in alternative spaces, that invite the audience into a new dynamic. Meagan began this project with a desire to move past the passive audience-active performer dynamic. In Anatomalia, the audience follows the chorus to different scenes but has some autonomy. They move through the space, experiencing the performance as a journey or an adventure.
