ANATOMALIA : anatomy + anomaly + femalia

Through new architype, ritual, dancing, singing, installation and procession, ANATOMALIA is a collective healing of the damage done to femalia (inclusive of all female-ness) and a celebration of queer joy.  Through sensual, surreal, dark and humourous choreography - ANATOMALIA seeks to change inner landscape and outer world.

Comprised of 12 group choreographies, performance installations and vignettes as well as secret performances and sideshows, and featuring a cast of 7 dancers and a dancing, running chorus of 20.

ANATOMALIA is an immersive experience, where scenes are set in different places throughout Heizhaus, Uferstudios courtyard and gardens. Audience follows the chorus, who orbit the activity and create transitions between locations.

An ensemble of FLINTA dancers embody and transform shame, repulsion, fear and rage to desire, curiosity, trust to (re)claim joy. A chorus, representing our grandmothers and their grandmothers, and an alternate, and future us, orbit around the activity, transitioning dancers out of scenes and audience into the next. There are secret performances, and hidden installations that bold audience members who choose to follow the chorus who break out of the ever-evolving spiral cycles may discover.
